This secret Designer’s room is found in Chapter 19 (the Lighthouse level). Steps to unlock it:
- Explore the caves near the Lighthouse.
- Kill all monsters (a dozen or more). Don’t kill any of the three prisoners.
- Once done, fire erupts from the three cave pools in the largest cavern room.
- Toss an explosive into each fire pool.
- Once you’ve done this, a slight tremor will happen as confirmation.
- Re-explore the far northwest cave (where you climb up).
- A broken wall reveals the Lead Designer’s (Richard Rouse III) office!
- Dr. Killjoy dances on the Designer’s head, tormenting him.
- Top Secret Documents are found on the chopping block.
- Stan Winston’s head is hidden in a box under the desk.
- The telephone rings… answer it and Jimmy will talk to you.

Have no fear, the lead designer (Richard Rouse III) has made a full recovery and resting at Vandamm’s mountainside retreat.
I didn’t leave enough clues for people to pick up on it, so most don’t even know about.
I remember you showing this to a very intoxicated me at the release party. You’d spent hours and hours at the party playing the game to get to this level (it’s almost at the end!). First time I’d ever seen it, I was totally unaware. That was an awesome moment.
Haha, yeah — in hind sight, what a waste of free booze and laughs for grinding the game in 2 hours to get there.
